Jacksonville, Florida shooting at Caravan Cir: 1 injured
Man died from what appears to be an accidental shooting in Sunrise early Saturday evening, police said. Rescue crews were called to an apartment building on the 10100 block of NW 24th Place at about 6:30 p.m. Life-saving attempts were made, according to reports.
Sheriff's deputies checking the home of a Florida woman and her small child found three dead dogs in her freezer and a house covered in filth and cockroaches. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that 35-year-old Victoria Kanger was arrested on Thursday and charged with child neglect.
A man was shot in the chest in Orange County, according to authorities. The Orange County Police Department said a man was shot somewhere in unincorporated Orange County on Saturday, then drove to a Popeye's Fried Chicken parking lot at Columbia Street and Burton Boulevard.
A car plowed through a home near Cocoa early Saturday, causing extensive damage to the residence. However, the people involved had only minor injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol said a Cadillac driven by Johnny Woodberry, 44, of Cocoa, went out of control, and struck a home on Lunar Lake Circle, at 2 a.m.
Three people were shot early Saturday, in a Cocoa home invasion. Cocoa Police said two armed suspects "stormed into the apartment" at 699 Hughlett Ave, at 2:20 a.m. The suspects began shooting, injuring two men in the apartment. One was hit several times, and was critically injured. The other occupant suffered one gunshot wound. A neighbor who tried to intervene was also shot. At least two of the victims were flown by helicopter to trauma centers.

Jacksonville: Police will continue their increased patrols around schools and bus routes after a second child was approached by an unknown adult earlier this week, blocks away from Washington Elementary School. A elementary school-age boy was approached by a man between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of South West Street, according to reports filed at 8:24 a.m. Wednesday.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what officials say is a drug-related homicide in Pensacola. Major Andrew Hobbs with ECSO told News 5 that deputies got a call around 4:30 p.m. Friday about an adult male on the side of the road at 4600 Jackson Street.
Orange County: Student with a gun on the campus of Wekiva High School was arrested on Friday, officials said. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the 17-year-old will be charged with possession of a firearm on school campus. According to an Orange Connect call, a student was seen on video with a weapon on campus and the situation was reported to school staff by other students.
Jupiter: Truck hit a parked camaro, pushing it into the Country Corner convenience store, according to Jupiter Police. The truck also continued into the store. There were multiple injuries. The injuries are considered to be non-life threatening

A man and woman were arrested by federal authorities after they allegedly flew 260 pounds of marijuana from California to Orlando, according to an arrest affidavit. A Department of Homeland Security agent wrote in an arrest affidavit that he received a tip shortly after midnight Monday that a private plane bound for Orlando Executive Airport from Sonoma, Calif. was carrying a large amount of marijuana.

A bomb threat was made Wednesday against Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, police said. Investigators said a man with a history of mental health issues told somebody at St. Paul’s Basilica in Daytona Beach that he had planted a bomb at the hospital.
