Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on Wednesday said a radar system installed by the US military on Tobago island is aimed at detecting crude tankers violating US sanctions on Venezuelan oil. Besides oil tankers, Persad-Bissessar said that the radar will detect traffickers delivering narcotics, firearms, ammunition and migrants into Trinidad and Tobago from Venezuela, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office
All international airlines that had connections with Venezuela have already suspended their flights to Caracas. In the last few hours, Copa, Wingo, Satena, and the last remaining airline, Boliviana de Aviación, have also canceled their flights.
